Respected intellectual property attorney Marci Hayward joins PEARSON BUTLER Law

PEARSON BUTLER law is pleased to announce that respected attorney Marci Hayward has joined its intellectual property practice.

“Marci’s scientific background helps her quickly understand new technology and their practical applications,” explains IP attorney Jason Webb. “I have worked with Marci for many years.  She has helped me secure patents for my clients in a wide variety of technologies.  We’re very happy to have her be part of our intellectual property team at Pearson Butler.”

Ms. Hayward has practiced intellectual property law for several years, and her practice focuses on preparing patent applications, including those related to chemical arts, mechanical arts, and medical devices, as well as the procurement of trademark and copyright protection.  She also assists in the preparation of opinions regarding patentability and infringement of United States patents.  Ms. Hayward is licensed to practice law in both Utah and Wyoming, as well as the United States District Courts for the Districts of Utah and Wyoming.

Ms. Hayward helps individuals and companies use their patents, copyright, and trademarks to receive financial benefit and earn recognition from what they create and invent.  This protection encourages an atmosphere where innovation and creativity can expand.  Her experience in various IP transactions and licensing includes the following:

About IP Attorney Marci Hayward

Ms. Hayward has a Bachelors of Science degree in Microbiology, with an emphasis in Environmental and Industrial Microbiology, as well as a minor in Chemistry, from Brigham Young University.  As an undergraduate, she helped conduct research regarding cell-signaling, co-authored an abstract published in the Journal of Abstracts for the 102nd General Meeting for the American Society of Microbiology, and presented her findings at the annual conference for the American Society of Microbiology.

Ms. Hayward received her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, at the Yeshiva University, with a concentration in Intellectual Property law.  As a law student, she served as a managing editor for the Cardozo Women’s Law Journal, now known as the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice.  During this time, she also completed an internship with the Honorable Michael J. Haley, District Court Judge for the 86th District of Michigan.
